"Drum Fever" is one of the Candido's funkiest records, conducted by the legendary Afro-Cuban-Jazz arranger Chico O' Farrill, it includes latin waves and soul-jazz grooves with swinging congas, killer keyboards, wah wah guitar and funky brass section. "Drum Fever" was conceived with the Chico O' Farrill complicity, most of the tracks are composed by the Candido-Farrill duo, including also two jazz standards, the big classic "St. Louis Blues" and the caribbean jazz "St. Thomas" of Sonny Rollins played in a up-tempo funk variation.
