"Love Is all Around" isn't the return of Eric Burdon in WAR band, but a collection of epic b-sides & unrealeased songs recorded from 1969 to 1970, and gathered in a compilation released during a WAR break in 1976, between the "Why Can't We Be Friends" & "Galaxy" albums. Most of the songs were recorded during the year 1970, including "Love Is All Around" & the Beatles reprise "A Day In A Life", both extracted from the Eric Buron Declares War's recordings sessions at the Wally Helder studio, San Fransisco. Other titles include first studio recording by WAR, the original version of "Tobacco Road" from 1969, the "Magic Mountain" b-side of the WAR massive hit, "Spill The Wine", the blues "Home Dream" and "Paint It Black", in a live performance at the Whiskey, Los Angeles in 1969. All tracks produced by Jerry Goldstein.

Señor Soul - Plays Funky Favorites

First album of the pre-incarnation of the "Eric Burdon & WAR" band, lead by Charles Miller, who was actives from 1967 to 1969. Later only Charles Miller joined "WAR", conceived with producer Jerry Goldstein and Eric Burdon, born on the ashes of "The Creators" & "Nightshift" bands (formed with Howard E. Scott and Harold Brown). Señor Soul revisits the Pop & Soul classics from the sixties in the Latin Funk style, including "I Heard It Through The Grapevine", "Gimme A Little Sign", "Sunshine Superman" and "Up Tight". Titles include also two of their original compositions, "Poquito Soul" and "Mucho Funky". It features Charles Miller (sax, fl, org), Edwin Stevenson (vib, p), Willie Briggs (eb), Howard Talley (eg) and James Tillman Crump (ds).

"It's Your Thing" is the last album of Señor Soul, a Funk/Soul band to the latin flavour, first incarnation of WAR formed by Charles 'Chuck' Miller in 1967. Miller was a multi-instrumentalist influenced by latin music who started as studio musician in particular to recording sessions of The Ray Charles Band. Later, he formed WAR with the Eric Burdon's contribution including Charles Miller's new band, "The Night Shift" featuring Harold Brown, Howard E. Scott & Papa Dee Allen, Lee Oskar joinging them thereafter. Titles include several songs composed by Mo Rodgers, producer for Double Shot Records, Soul&Rock covers songs from The Isley Brothers (It's Your Thing), Lee Dorsey (Working In The Coalmine), The Creedance (Proud Mary), jazz standard (By The Time I Get To Phoenix) and original composition by Charles Miller (Soul Fiesta). The Black-Man's Burdon is the last album by Eric Burdon with WAR featuring guest organist Shirley Scott. After this last album, Eric Burdon continued his solo career leaving WAR evolved alone. Since their first album, WAR transcends musical borders performing as well as jazz to rock including blues, Gospel, Funk with Latin Rhythms, and The Black-Man's Burdon don't derogate it. This double album includes new original compositions by WAR plus cover songs from The Rolling Stones ("Paint It Black", their second medley after "Tobacco Road") and The Moody Blues ("Night In White Satin"). Titles include also two songs featuring Shirley Scott & The Beautiful New Born Children Of Southern California : "Beautiful New Born Child" & "They Can’t Take Away Our Music".

Eric Burdon & WAR - Eric Burdon Declares ''War''

In 1969, Eric Burdon left The Animals and joined the californian protest Funk band WAR. During a short time from 1969 to 1970, the band recorded only two albums before to continue the way without Burdon. The album starts with "The Vision Of Rassan", a tribute to the giant jazz saxophonist, Rahsaan Roland Kirk, follow-up to the medley of classic Loudermilk's song "Tobacco Road" which told us the history of the Afro-American slaves way. Others titles include the smash hit single "Spill The Wine", another tribute to Memphis Slim and the short avant-garde piece "You're No Stranger". "Spill The Wine" was selected for the soundtrack of Paul Thomas Anderson's "Boogie Night" movie. On the back cover is printed : "We the people have declared war against the people for the right to love each other", a sentence against  the Vietnam War, in accordance with the American counterculture spirit.
