Five Deez (for Fifth Dimension) was an american Hip-Hop Band from Cincinnati, formed in the nineties by the DJ John Marshall, best known as Fat Jon including rappers Patrick Johnson (Pase Rock), Kyle David (Chilly Most) & Corey Brown (Sonic). "Five Deez" has collaborated with various US & Japanese Hip-Hop artists such as J.Rawls, Blackstar, Mos Def, Nujabes or Shing02. The band released three albums between 2001-2006 before split-up, Pase Rock and Fat Jon going on their own career. Released on Fat Jon's own label "Ample Soul", this compilation brings together several downtempo and jazzy hip-hop songs among their early recordings and unreleased productions from 1993 to 1999, including "Cerebral Attax", "Gateway" featuring the Hip-Hop band "Mood" (also from Cincinnati), various interludes and remixes "What Happens", "Disgust (Ver.2.0)". All tracks arranged & composed by Fat Jon 'The Ample Soul'.

The second and last volume of "Hyde Out Productions" compilation series, following the First Collection released four years ago, including jazzy hip-hop/downtempo recordings directed by Nujabes, and released for his own label "Hyde Out Recordings". The 2nd Collection compilation brings together various original compositions recorded by Nujabes, including featurings with rappers CL Smooth, SubstantialFive Deez, instrumental tracks composed by Uyama HirotoDSK, and some remixes by Nujabes, based on songs performed by Pase RockEmancipator & Shing02. All tracks produced & mixed by Nujabes for Hyde Out Recordings.

Fat Jon As Maurice Galactica - Humanoid Erotica

John Marshall aka Fat Jon (also known under various pseudonyms as "The Ample Soul"), is an American rap producer, DJ  and former member of Five Deez, an alternative Hip-Hop band from Cincinnati. Fat Jon is one prominent representative of the downtempo style alongside Nujabes, with whom he collaborated to the "Samurai Champloo" original soundtrack in 2003 (volumes "Impression" & "Departure". Released under the Maurice Galactica's name,"Humanoid Erotica" includes in particular the triptych "Triple Gold Daytons", the instrumental remix "Raindance" and the Hip-House track "Pretty Pussy Killy Kat" featuring Five Deez, all composed, produced and mixed by Fat Jon The Ample Soul Physician.

Debut album of Nujabes including various collaborations featuring japanese and american alternative Hip-Hop artists, such as activist MC, Shing02 (best known for the opening "Battlecry" from the Samurai Champloo original soundtrack, produced by Nujabes), the multi-instrumentalist, Uyama Hiroto, Substantial, Pase Rock & Five Deez, Cise Starr from CYNE. Titles include also downtempo instrumentals (Horn In The Middle, Next View...), pure soulful hip-hop (Lady Brown, F.I.L.O....) and variation on the Samurai Champloo's ending theme "Beat Laments The World".
