Isao with his "New Family" quartet featuring Masayoshi Yoneda, Takayuki Katoh, Shigeo Hirayama & Shuji Miyake. Best known as the 'Jazz Godfather', Isao Suzuki is a jazz bassist, one of these japanese jazz giant who still influences many Japanese artists today. In the seventies, Isao Suzuki joined the George Kawaguchi's Big Four (George And Sleepy - 1969/The Big Four - 1976), played alongside others japanese renowned musicians such as saxophonist Sadao Watanabe, trumpeter Terumasa Hino or jazz songstress Kimiko Kasai, with various international jazzmen in many famous Jazz festivals, and was sideman for american pianist Mal Waldron (member of the legendary Art Blakey & the Jazz Messengers) or brazilian guitarist Baden Powell (On Stage - 1974). The Thing brings together several titles ranging from Jazz Rock to Latin & Contemporary Jazz, associated to some free forms of improvisations including a tribute to Miles Davis.
