"Corazon" is a Jazz Funk album including Latin music by keyboardist Mikio Masuda featuring top amercican jazz musicians among the bassist Anthony Jackson, drummer Bernard 'Pretty' Purdie, percussionist Sammy Figueroa & arranger David Matthews. Released on the japanese fusion jazz label Electric Bird, it was the first Masuda's album recorded outside Japan at the famous Electric Lady studios in New York. Titles include the latin funk "Corazón", Sadao Watanabe's tune "Samba Em Praia", the caribbean vibe "Ride On The Donkey", "Another Rainy Day In New York City"/"Love Talkin" played in the pure Bob James style, and a variation of the Masuda's classic "Let's Get Together" on a disco beat. All tracks arranged & conducted by David Matthews.

Baden Powell - 1976 ~ Tristeza

Baden Powell De Aquino was one of the great figures of the Bossa Nova and Jazz Samba genres including the Afro-Brasileira style. "Tristeza 1976" refers to his first international success "Tristeza On Guitar" recorded ten years ago. During the seventies, Baden Powell recorded various albums for the French label Festival such as "La Grande Réunion" featuring french jazz violonist Stéphane Grappelli. From 1973, his quartet consists of bassist Guy Pedersen, drummer Jean Arpino and Jorge Arena from The Percussionists Of Rio De Janeiro. Titles include his own compositions (Canto De Ossanha, Ciudad Vacia, Imagem), the Brazilian latin jazz classics from Jobim (So Danso Samba) and Ary Barroso (Bahia). Recorded in France at studio Frémontel.

Johnny Hammond - Breakout

Another genious Hammond B-3 organ player also known under the name John Robert Smith started his solo career with Imagination in 1959. In he signed on Prestige label in 1961 and later, recorded several albums for Kudu (subsidiary of CTI Records). In the line-up feature some best CTI musicians as Hank Crawford, Grover Washington Jr., Billy Cobham, Eric Gale and the famous brazilian percussionist Airto Moreira. Titles include the super groove version of Carole King' It's Too Late and Never Can Say Goodbye popularized by the Jackson Five. Recorded at studio Rudy Van Gelder and produced by Creed Taylor.
