Reissue of rare groove press recording based on first official live performance at the Burning Bush (Texas) in 1968 by the american jazz trumpeter Marvin 'Hannibal' Peterson. Regular sideman for conductor Gil Evans during the seventies and the eighties (he features on the "Music Of Jimmy Hendrix" in 1974), he played alongside others greatest jazz figures among saxophonist Pharoah Sanders, bassist Richard Davis or drummers Roy Haynes & Evil Jones. "The Soulmasters Concert" is a soul jazz oriented album with high energy introducing Marvin Peterson as a band leader including jazz standard "Summertime" by George Gershwin and classic Funk/Soul "I Can't Stand It" by James Brown.
