"Modal Soul Classics" is a concept compilation planned by japanese beatmaker and Hip-Hop producer Nujabes, including his favorites songs recorded from 1974 to 2005 by various US, European & Japanese artists who influenced and inspired him. The compilation brings together various music genres as well as Pop (Todd Rundgren, DSK), Latin Jazz (Omar Sosa, Haki R Madhubuti), Hip-Hop (Unison, Specifics), Electro-Lounge (Goldfix), Future Jazz (Sleep Walker) and Downtempo (Heprcam) featuring also Scoot Matelic, Clammbon, LAVA, Takero Ogata and Blue Asia.
