Nobuo Hara is a band leader, saxophonist & arranger was part of those who popularized Jazz in Japan. He formed his Big Band in 1951, in which passed some future notable great Jazz players, likewise present on Forest Flower, such as Hiroshi Suzuki, Yoshiaki Masuo or arranger Norio Maeda. His playing partners have included Quincy Jones, Count Basie, Miles Davis, Henry Mancini, Nat King Cole, Sarah Vaughan, Oliver Nelson, and also famous french actor/singer, Yves Montand. This album reminds the work of the Buddy Rich Big Band including original compositions plus Jazz & Pop cover songs from Herbie Hancock, Ramsey Lewis, Lee Morgan, Joe Zawinul, Bobby Hebb or The Beatles.
